I did this up after doing some research in order to put a pretty solid date on it. One of the facts I didn't mention in the photo is, the Biscuit buildings history tells when they were in Omaha and we know the horrific Easter tornado of 1913. I may be a little off, but this is the best I could come up with to identify my photo. (I own the black and white)

My Dad worked for ASARCO, so I feel attached to the history. He was injured when molten lead poured over into his boot and completely burned his foot. Imagine lead poisoning!

      1907

I bought this card from Judy Clark dealer 216 at the Brass Armadillo in Omaha.....she's a real cool lady!

I sent my photo to Nebraska Memories after posting this. They said they "think" the photo was from 1918 because of Loose-Wiles' building, but can't be sure. I was going to mention the tornado and ask if they knew what buildings were leveled from it, but I forgot. They pointed out a couple of neat things I missed though!

There is a skinny white tower to the right across from Iten Biscuit that has a white flag at the top. Just to the left of that, you can see a person in the air that leaped off!
Also to the left in the background near the river bank, you see another smoke stack. They said that was the Union Pacific's powerhouse. They also sent me plate maps which show the locations of buildings etc... pretty cool!

You mean when they took the picture, somebody was jumping off the pole?

The photo I have is blown up 15x11, so I scanned it for the internet and blew it up REALLY big at 600dpi

Wow! Talk about timing. It also looks like someone is looking out the window on the top floor of the Iten building. BTW, someone from Omaha was in my store today.

I have been side tracked with "life" (too many complicated subjects involved in that word)
I stop here every couple days, but I am mentally worn and can't bring myself to checking the q&a section or watch videos lol
We are going to be moving around May 1st across town to Elkhorn, so that and some other big changes are taking place.....I hope it's all settled and we can relax for the summer!
