Tusculor Vanity Set

Hi Donna, It's really a nice vanity set in yellow celluloid probably from the 1930's. The name Tusculor is a brand name, and I have heard that it is derived from "tusk color," ie. the yellow color of the plastic--the color of ivory tusks. All the sets I have seen are this distinctive yellow with black borders. The "D" is, I think, a monogram of the original owner. You see individual pieces on ebay, and occasionally a complete set (although sometimes there are as many as 16 pieces in a "complete" set). If I had your set for sale in the Brass Armadillo Antique Mall in Denver, CO, where I am a vendor, I would list it at about $175. The monogram might be a negative for some. Gary
