      Victorian Vanity?

      Hi iAntique People!

(I watch Gary Stover alot on Youtube, which is how I learned about this site.) I purchased the vanity in the picture (attached below) today for myself because I have always wanted one. I could not pass this one up. My question is does anyone in iAntique world the era this style was popular in? I see many online, but most have been made "shabby chic" so it is really hard for me to tell if what others have listed is actually antique or made to look antique. *The wood on the back of this dresser is very dark-from age. Next question, should I gold leaf the dresser or leave it as it. It is going into my Victorian-style guest bedroom. Also, what would be the approximate value of this dresser. (I got it for a steal, but loving knowing how much I saved!)

Thank you so much for your help!

Hi Amanda, Thanks for tuning in to the shows! Glad you catch them on youtube. You have a very nice vanity, made in mahogany with a beautiful shaped mirror. It's a revival style, probably done in the 1920's or '30's. It recreates the look of the mid-Victorian period perfectly and should look really good in your guest bedroom. I, personally, would not change the finish, but it's largely a matter of personal taste. I'm in Colorado, and around here your vanity would retail at about $325. Gary
