I have recently run across a Capehart combination radio and phonograph in a really nice cabinet configuration. I am researching this unit and I am wondering if any one has any information on this unit as to its possible value and year of manufacture. It is a model #35P7 and also carries the name of the Farnsworth company. I believe Capehart was bought out by Farnsworth in the late 40's or early 50's. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance for any help.

I think you are really close on the late 1940s, early 1950s date. My folks had one, same time period, looks similar, but the cabinet is less elaborate, probably was a cheaper model than yours. If the FM dial has the same frequencies as today, it's got to be no earlier than that. I'm guessing there's a record cabinet below the turntable, and a 12" speaker below the radio?

Oh, value... not a heck of a lot. That's a weird period that people don't collect from as much as the earlier stuff, and radio/phonos of any period just don't seem to pull as much value as, say the big Zeniths of the late 30's, early 40s. You might get $150 - $200 if the cabinet is really sweet, but the market isn't big, so you might have to move it for less, or if the cabinet has wear. It helps if you have several radios to sell and show them together.
