The Candlewick pattern was Imperial Glass' most popular selling category from the mid-1930's through the 1950's, and today it is the most popular pattern among Imperial Glass collectors. I've just acquired more than 100 pieces of Candlewick in a great variety of shapes. It comprises a collection put together by a couple over a lifetime of collecting. So, in this week's program I'll profile the company & the pattern. We'll discuss the history of Imperial Glass Company, the development of its designs, and we'll focus primarily on the many pieces of Candlewick in this collection. Most are inexpensive. A few a worth more than $100. I think you'll agree that it's a beautiful representation of American glass making at its best.
