Earth Day was celebrated by thousands of people on April 22 but why not observe it every day. One way you can contribute throughout the year is to repurpose, reuse, recycle, or redesign things you already have rather than going out and buying new items.

The earth’s natural resources will appreciate it and our future generations will benefit. For me, it’s a good reminder to clean out the closets, drawers, basement and attic, and rid myself of items I no longer want or need. Why not take some time to go through your house, garage, or attic and look for items you have stored for a long time and no longer need or want. I’m betting you will find some items that can be reused in another way or that can be donated to local charities or given to friends.

Need a few new ideas? Well, if you’ve never gone to the web and taken a look at repurposing/reusing, you will be amazed at the ingenous ideas people have come up with. You’ll probably say to yourself, “Why didn’t I think of that”. I was blown away by the creative ideas I found. But if by some crazy fluke you don’t find a way to repurpose an item at home, take a trip to The Brass Armadillo.

They literally have tons of furniture, household items, outdoor décor for your yard and garden, etc. I’m betting you will come up with a great idea for an item which can be repurposed or used in a different innovative way. Not only might you find new uses for old items, but you will likely clear space in your in your house. It seems like we’re all looking for added space. You will benefit as will our Earth!
