Every day for more than four decades, Gertrude Gardner has sat in a large white wicker chair, finished at least one crossword puzzle, drunk a cup of coffee and sold antiques and other trinkets to Pascack Valley residents.

But at the end of this month, the 92-year-old business owner is retiring – ending a career that has included the opening of three stores in the center of Westwood and decades' worth of anecdotes from watching the borough grow into what it is today.
